Back to Square One
November 29, 2009: Arsenal 0 – Chelsea 3. Arsenal were 11 points adrift of the top.
February 7, 2009: Chelsea 2 – Arsenal 0. Arsenal are 9 points adrift of the top.
The true believer will say that we climbed out of that hole back in November and we can do it again.
The cynic will respond that there are less games now and each game is crucial for every club.
The believer will say that we have an easier run of games after this one — with only Liverpool, Spurs and Man City as serious challengers.
The cynic will point out that we have dropped points against Sunderland, Burnley and West Ham already.
The believer will point to our 60 goals scored — which stands next to United’s 61 and Chelsea’s 60 as best in the Prem.
The cynic will point to our 30 goals conceded.
The believer will say have faith.
The cynic will ask for a reason.
More tomorrow…maybe…
