Reading Fail In Attempt To Sign Wilshere On Loan

Chronicle, Reading were unsuccessful in signing Arsenal starlet Jack Wilshere on loan. Reading manager Brendan Rodgers said,

“Jack would be a terrific possibility and I’ve already made the enquiry on that one …But Jack will go to the Premier League. The reality is he’s a Premier League player, he even said that
himself.”

“If they are top talents there’s a big chance they will come to Reading because if they’re good enough they will get an opportunity here … We will always be in the running to bring in
talent like Jack when they become available.”

December 8th, 2009 According to Pa Sports at MirrorFootball, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will consider loaning out midfielder Jack Wilshere if the right opportunity
arrives. Wenger said,

“There is a chance [for a loan], if we have an interesting opportunity … I would prefer it to be in the Premier League, but at the top level of the Championship could be interesting as
well.”

“It is important for Jack to play, so if we find a good opportunity, we will consider it.”

UPDATE: According to The Sporting Life, Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti admitted once again that he does not need to spend next month. Ancelotti said,

“I am satisfied with the team I have … In January, (Didier) Drogba, (John) Mikel, (Salomon) Kalou and (Michael) Essien will be playing in the Africa Nations
Cup and they will miss four round of games in the Premier League.”

According to Elliot Ball at Sky Sports News, billionaire Alisher Usmanov purchased more
Arsenal shares to increase his stake 26.07%.

Stan Kroenke currently owns 29.9% of the Arsenal shares after purchasing a bunch of shares last month.

Burnley Still Want Nugent On A Permanent Basis

UPDATE: According to the Lancashire Telegraph,
Burnley boss Owen Coyle is still interested in permanently signing Portsmouth striker David Nugent. Coyle said,

“We are not any further forward in terms of dialogue. We have an agreement with Portsmouth but we have to see if anything has changed with Avram … We tried to have a chat last week but it
was difficult. David obviously has a role to play as well in terms of shaping his own career.”

“He is a player I like and we will see what the outcome is.”

Sky Sports News, Burnley chairman Barry Kilby is also interested in permanently signing Portsmouth striker David Nugent. Kilby said,

“We’re in discussions with Owen now to see what we can do … We’re sitting down and seeing where we can strengthen … I think David would come here like a shot and we’d like him here but
we’d have to negotiate with Portsmouth when his deal is up.”

official website, Everton confirmed that they are looking to sign striker Landon Donovan on loan. Chief executive Robert Elstone said:

“Landon is a player David Moyes has identified as someone he would like to bring to the Club.  We are working to make that happen and hope we can reach agreement soon with all the
appropriate parties.”
