Here Is Why Bernd Schuster Should Shut Up

Pellegrini: "It is non of your business so just shut up"

Do you remember Bernd Schuster?

Yes, he is still alive and kicking. As a matter of fact, it seems he is tired of not being mentioned on my blog anymore and wanted some attention so he went on to subjectively criticize Pellegrini and portray Raul as a king of a nation.

Here is what he said,

"It is something that should just not be done"

"Telling Raul to warm up is not the same as telling Drenthe. For other players maybe, but for Raul it should not be done. If it were me, I would feel a bit spurned".

The above comment is what offended me. Raul is not like Drenthe? Is it OK to tell Drenthe to warm up and then to tell him that plans changed but not to Raul? Why? Is it because Raul IS the captain? Or Is it because he has been at the club for 15 years and has made a history at it?

Well, this should be irrelevant in this case. All players are equal. Drenthe is a professional player so is Raul and they must be treated equally. Pellegrini has been so fair with all of his squad members, while Schuster has adopted some kind of favoritism — and kissing other people’s asses.

He then added:

"It is enough for him to be on the bench as a substitute, which is difficult for him, but this is an even harder blow"

Seriously? Why is Raul on the bench Mr.Schuster? You know why? It is because he is inconsistent. Who would you play If you were the coach again? Ronaldo who has scored three goals, missed a penalty and assisted a header just a few days after he had returned from injury or Raul who hasn’t gotten injured for years?

I know Schuster would play Raul again just because he is the captain who must not be benched; not for footballing reasons If you ask me — it is a politics game.

Schuster was our coach, and while I think he wasn’t given a lot of time, he didn’t make en effort to change things at the club. He found a team that had gotten its spirit back and at a time when Barcelona were struggling. We won something yes, but did he change anything? I don’t think so.

Pellegrini came and found himself in a similar situation but with more resources to be fair. The difference up to this point is that Manuel has had the courage to change things at the club. It is not only about benching Raul or kicking Guti out, it is about many things. It is about being pragmatic and looking for the team’s best and his results speak for themselves.

So now Mr.Schuster, that’s why you should shut up. Now go and find a job instead.
