Like Everybody

Just like everybody else, I’ve already put Saturday behind me and am looking forward to Barcelona tomorrow night.

On the other hand it’s worth noting that Birmingham held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw yesterday, much as they did to us, and Chelsea and Man Utd. Suddenly I don’t feel to ashamed of the result. We
still should have won, but against 12 men I think we did okay (yes I’m referring to that utter clown of a ref).

It’s a short blog today coz I’m packing to go off on holiday down to Somerset – hoping against hope that I can find a pub showing the match on Tuesday night! Blogging might be a little
difficult depending on how the old internet connection holds up, but we’ll see.

Barca

And so we go to the Camp Nou and I reckon we’re going to win. Okay I did say that about last Wednesday and was proved wrong, but it has to happen some time!

We are without a raft of our top players…. again. Fabregas, Arshavin, Gallas, Van Persie of course and worryingly we’re told Song picked up a groin strain on Saturday (but the club hope he’ll
be fit).

So Nasri will be Cesc, and Bendtner will have to start.  Assuming Song plays, and Campbell plays (and there’s a worrying concern in Wenger’s voice about whether he’ll be fit enough to play
another full game so soon after Saturday), I’d be pretty confident about the defense.

I’m not even going to go through the rumours about all the Barcelona players out – I suspect much of it to be simply gamesmanship.

Want it

I think this team wants it – and I know Nasri can step up into the Fabregas role when he wants to. I just hope, like most people I suspect, that the team that starts have the same desire as the
team that finished the last leg.

If they want it, and come out fighting, they can win it – definitely.

If they are overawed, as they were at the start of the first leg. Or if they sit back from them, as they did at the start of the first leg – then they’re toast!

It’s clear they need to attack Barcelona from the start.

Nothing much more to say about it at this stage. Just nerves.

Let’s do it for Cesc
