Bacary Sagna spoke about how Arsenal need ‘cut the football’ and do whatever will ‘help them achieve them
what they want’.
I’m glad that Arsenal players realize this, although I think it’s come down a bit recently. At Wolves we tried to pass the ball in the net, but thankfully Sagna whipped in a
really good cross for Bendtner to score. I brought this up just because Sagna got no recognition at all for the cross. Most of the time his crossing is very poor, but occasionally he puts in some
great ones. Credit where it’s due.

That’s all Arsenal related news today. EDIT: it seems that i missed a couple of interviews. Clichy said that we should get a winter break and Bendtner said something about the Spurs game being
massive. Check Arseblog for the exact quotes.

In other news:

El Clasico – the match between Barca and Real – is today. Currently they’re level on points, but Real are on top by goal difference. Both of them have scored a huge amount of goals, Real’s
defence isn’t the best and Barca have scored 3 goals on average in their last three meetings. Should be an exciting game. Old red Nose stands by his racist comments about Germans, even though
Ribery (who did overreact and frankly should have been yellow carded) is French, Robben is Dutch and Olic is Croatian, and less than half the outfield team were German. And despite the fact that
Manu are possibly the worst offenders of the thing Red Nose is accusing ‘Germans’ of. Manu let a 3 goal lead slip, but apparently they were “magnificent”. Sounds too stupid to be true? Check it out yourself.

And that’s all the football news today. On Saturday. On the eve of the biggest game in Spanish football. There are no controversial quotes, or players and managers boasting and saying that they
will easily thrash the other team and it’s time for business etc. There’s none of that. Slow news day, isn’t it?

So here’s some ‘funny stuff’ as promised yesterday:

The funniest footballing ‘incidents’ of 2009. Part one of two. If you’ve never seen a ‘funny football
compilation before, then this is a good starter.

Exclusive Cesc interview by Guillem Balague
