Spain’s medical staff are said to be taking no risks over the fitness of Fernando Torres and Andres Iniesta ahead of the game against Bosnia on Wednesday after both players suffered knocks in the weekend win over Armenia.

We will be very cautious with Fernando Torres. We have until Wednesday to assess his condition. We believe that physiotherapy treatment that we’ve started today will help,” team doctor Oscar
Celada was quoted as saying by AS.

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez will be anxious to get his star striker back to Merseyside in good condition with crucial fixtures coming up against Lyon in the Champions League and Manchester
United in the Premier League.

Meanwhile Iniesta’s situation is one of greater concern for Spain and for Barcelona after he felt discomfort in the thigh that ruled him out for four months.

“Iniesta was hit in the thigh where he had the injury and has some discomfort. We are cautious, obviously in this case with more reason,” added Celada.

Barcelona have been very cautious in the manner in which they have brought Iniesta back from injury, gradually reintroducing the player to more action. A recurrence of the injury would be a blow
for both the player and the club, especially given that Spain have already qualified for the World Cup finals.
