Tough Decisions May Prove Right..

Sometimes a manager makes a decision that may not be appreciated by all the fans and yet i get the feeling that the majority of Arsenal fans were pretty supportive of the decision to field the
team he did yesterday. Some in the media wheel out the whole “he hasn’t won anything for five years” and surely the FA Cup was the best opportunity. Maybe it was but even with a fully fit squad
we managed to lose at Stoke last year and we didn’t have the toughest five games of the season to come (people seem to forget the Porto game follows closely on after the Liverpool game). In
fact, by losing the FA Cup game we now have a weekend off between the two last games of the five.

In a perfect world we would have everyone fit, we would have put a decent side out and maybe won the match but what’s to say we would have not had the same decision to make in the next round
after all the tough games. Truth is a few players needed a rest, especially the central defenders, and we were up until yesterday evening top of the league. If we all had the money of City
& Chelsea so we could afford experienced players hardly playing and picking up huge wages then that’s what we would do or if we haven’t got Europe to worry about (like Spuds, Villa etc)
then we would not have tired players aside from all the injuries we have got.

And great results in the Cup of Nations with both Ivory Coast (though the fact Drogba gets back early is not so good) and Cameroon losing. Get on that plane Song we need you on Wednesday!
