Wandering towards the top

Somehow, we still seem to be under the radar of most of the media, yet Arsenal are now second in the Premier League, have the best goal
difference and have scored the most goals this season.

Another thumping win, this time at Wolverhampton Wanderers, sees Arsenal just five points off the top with a game in hand. Chelsea currently
occupy first place, but we play later this month in a potentially huge match.

Anyway, back to Wolves. They weren’t very good to be honest. Initially, they tried hard and looked dangerous from corners, but their defending
left a lot to be desired. Jody Craddock scored an own goal against Arsenal at Highbury the last time Wolves were in the Premier League, and he managed it again with a great header from
Eduardo’s chip. Ronald Zubar also produced a deft finish in his own six yard box. Generally though, Arsenal could have scored loads more if they’d moved out of second gear. Apart from the third
goal, scintillating football wasn’t required to pick up three points.

Read the match report and listen to the podcast from the 4-1 win over Wolves.

We also played in midweek against AZ Alkmaar and also won 4-1. The report was unfortunately delayed and there was no blog, however, the report
is there now. We did play some scintillating football in that match with Andrey Arshavin and Cesc Fabregas looking untouchable. The Russian picked up three assists and the skipper has scored
four goals in a week. He is really relishing the role now as he has quality players around him to set up chances and take their own amount of responsibility. Last season, it sometimes looked as
if he was doing everything on his own as skipper, now there are players round him to help out. Alex Song has also contributed to Cesc scoring as he sits in the midfield brilliantly and allows
Fabregas to basically go wherever he wants. Van Persie and Arshavin are also providing great passes to set him up as well.

Good to see Nasri on the score sheet again after his injury. He became our 17th different scorer this season, showing we’re scoring a lot of
goals and most players are contributing.

Read the AZ 4-1 report here.

Now we have the stupid, rotten, boring, likely to be fruitless, dull, needless and generally pointless international break. England are going to Qatar for a match no
one cares about against Brazil. Most of our squad could come back injured and all momentum will be lost.

I will return in two weeks after our match with Sunderland following the break. How can I cope two weeks in a vital month without proper football?
