Wenger’s clarification – Transfer gossip

So as expected there were some clarification made on the Official website yesterday.

Regarding the interview that we thought did happened actually didn’t:

| Arsène Wenger did not grant a one-on-one interview to the newspaper |

You never know what the truth is do you?

Moving on to another story on the official website AW said that the injury to
Nicklas Bendtner is not big
. The only thing that’s left to be seen is for how long this “not so big” injury to the Big Dane keeps him out of action.

Another good news is that AW confirmed yesterday that the spending is not over and we will definitely see another defender and there is a good chance of another player coming in. I wish its a
new goalkeeper but the immediate need is a new and experienced defender who can quickly adapt to the pace of the premier league and not someone like Rafik Halliche. Now I am not against this player but the fact that we are after
him just because he kept Rooney quiet in one game is a bit immature because then we need to buy a defender for Drogba, Torres, Messi and all. In my opinion we need a top class defender which
makes the competition for place in the defence more tight.

There is a story on Youngguns which states that Ivan Gazidis is in
negotiations with a large number of club’s over loan spells for prospects Wojciech Szczęsny and Vito Mannone which is not only good for them as they would gain some experience but also an
indication that a new goalkeeper might be on his way as AW has the policy of keeping atleast 3 keepers in his team.

Apparently Sol is on the verge of signing for
Sunderland
because of his fiancee Fiona Barratt. Also Sheffield united wants to re-sign Kyle Bartley on loan which should do no harm.

According to Goal, Barcelona’s new president Sandro Rosell wants to meet AW in South Africa to push-on a deal for Fabregas. The same article says that

| Barca are apparently unwilling to up their offer from €40 million and if they cannot
reach an agreement with Wenger this weekend they are likely to turn their attentions elsewhere
|

which is good for us as this might help Cesc to concentrate on pre-season.

Also another article reports that Barcelona would have to sell Ibrahimovic to
Man City
before they could raise some cash to fund the bid for you know whom.

It seems like City are after Ex-Arsenal goalkeeper Richard Wright who currently plays for Ipswich Town.

So that’s all for today. Till next time.
