When teams from your country are playing internationally, do you support them?
The advent of the CONCACAF Champions League has broken new ground for US futbol fans. For the first time we are watching our domestic teams compete with sides from other countries on a
regular basis. I now encounter a stutaion that is common in the rest of the world but new here, club sides carrying the flag of my country in international competition. Which leads
to my question, when teams from your country are playing internationally, do you support them? I have found that yes, I do. I became a big Columbus Crew fan on Tuesday, I’m sure it
wil fade.
Interestingly enough, as soon as they play domestically again I will be ambivilent about them, preferring to support my own team. I’ve even taken it a step further and found myself
supporting sides against our common enemy, Mexico, last night I was full into the victory by Marathon of Hondouras over Pumas and suffered at the lack of attack from Cominicaciones of Guatemala
in their match against Mexican side Pachuca. Love that aspect of the game.
