Cup Africa 2010: Day 3 – Groups C and D
Forgive the delay, but I have been on holiday justly between the third day and the first day of parties of quarter finals, so I will try to sum the happened up in the day 3 to put myself immediately with the qualifying phase, about which I will inform you between today and tomorrow.
Group C
In the Group C there were no surprises. Egypt and Nigeria settled his respective parties with each clear victories on his rivals, Benin and Mozambique, respectively. The Pharaohs already had the first square insured after his two victories in the previous days, but they confirmed his excellent state with a third victory. In spite of playing with substitute many, in 25 minutes they had already solved the party with two goals. It is clear: they want to gain the Cup Africa again; if they do it, there will be the first ones in achieving it three times consecutive.
Nigeria spent more troubles. They began the competition losing undeniably against Egypt, they could only win to Benin for the minim in the second day and against Mozambique it did not turn out to be so simple to them as it reflects the final scoreboard. Certain troubles happened against The Mambas, which were depending on themselves to qualify and only thanks to two goals of Odemwingie, the first one to the knife-edge of the rest and the second just person after returning, The Green Eagles could breathe calmly; there was even time so that Martins was marking the third one to claim the position in eleven that the seleccionador Amodu denies to him.
Group D
The Group D finished the first phase so madman as it started. Tunisia had before the ropes Cameroon in two occasions, but The Indomitable Lions, playing as badly as in the rest of meetings, managed to tie two times (the first one with goal of the neroazzurro Eto’o), relegating The Eagles of Carthage to the last square of the group after harvesting three ties in his three parties.
In another duel, Zambia managed to conquer Gabon for 2-1, what placed it like the first of group while his rival continues pulling out the hair. The Panthers had won to Cameroon and joined with Tunisia, coming to the last day like leader with 4 points, but finally, the goals Kalaba and Tedious, they gave him the victory to The Bullets of Copper that, against any prognosis, passed to the following round for leaders of the Group D.
